Green Entertainment has at last decided on the project's official name. The channel announced on 22 to 24 August 2026 that the drama featuring Mahira Khan and Wahaj Ali would be known as Mitti De Baway. For me, that was the point at which the period of waiting changed from one of speculation to something definite. Having received months of quiet updates, first looks and behind-the-scenes scenes, the title is now no longer a secret.
From the very start I have been interested in this pairing. It was certain to attract attention that two of Pakistan’s most popular actors should appear together for the first time in a full-scale television drama. What struck me in the official statements was the clarity regarding the script having been written by Faiza Iftikhar, the direction being handled by Syed Wajahat Hussain, and it having been produced by Tehreem Chaudhary through Multiverse Production for Green Entertainment. The network itself made the announcement on its social media channels using the simple yet effective words: "The name was a mystery. Now, the mystery has a name. MITTI DE BAWAY. Coming soon, only on Green Entertainment Television."
Production Status and Shoot Wrap
The time at which the title is revealed is important. Several reports, all of which came out around the same time, state that the entire filming has now been completed. Pictures from the cast and crew celebrating with cake-cutting and the usual kind of festivities have already been posted online, showing Mahira Khan, Wahaj Ali and Amar Khan among others. Although I have always preferred to go by official confirmation rather than secondary accounts, the fact that these updates are in agreement indicates that production has now entered the post-production stage. That is noteworthy because it means the teaser, which we have been told is "dropping very soon", is no longer just a distant possibility.
